German discount store chain Aldi Süd has revealed plans to open up to 110 shops in Australia, 40 to 50 of which will be located in south Australia and 50 to 60 in the west of the country.
Aldi said it was committed to the expansion, but that it would take a number of years to secure a distribution centre and sufficient locations.
A spokesperson said it would take two or three years to open stores in western Australia.
