Warehouse club operator Costco has revealed its opening plans for the remainder of the 2013 financial year.

In the first quarter, which ended on November 25, Costco added nine clubs - eight in the US and one in Canada - bringing its total to 617, including 443 in the US.

By the end of the financial year, Costco expects to have added 30 club units across the US, Japan, Canada, the UK, South Korea, Australia, Mexico and Taiwan. The retailer expects to end the year with 638 clubs worldwide.
