Chilean retailer Cencosud has reported that its second-quarter net profit jumped 24.7% year-on-year to CLP79.39bn (£104m).

Sales for the quarter totalled CLP1.49tn (£195.2m), compared with CLP1.31tn (£171.6bn) in the second quarter of 2009, attributed to increased demand.
