Biedronka has announced plans to invest PLN1.5bn (£300m) this year in the opening of 200 new stores and two new distribution centres, the latter probably located in central Poland and the Silesia region.

The retailer currently operates 1,650 stores and hopes to reach 3,000 stores within the next five years. Last year, Biedronka opened 197 stores and two distribution centres located in Koszalin and Opole.
