Etail giant Amazon plans to open its first logistics centre in Spain. The new hub – expected to go live within a few months – will be in San Fernando de Henares, close to Madrid. The initiative is intended to service growing demand from Spanish customers shopping at Amazon.es, which was launched in September last year.

Amazon vice-president of operations in Europe Allan Lyall said: “We are pleased with the positive response from our Spanish customers and their interest in our Amazon Premium offer, which ensures delivery within two to three days. Our new logistics centre in Spain will help our customers to receive the best possible service as well as a fast and reliable delivery.”
