Sales at designer fashion retailer Hugo Boss jumped 9 per cent to €1.63 billion (£1.22 billion) for 2007, with net income soaring 20 per cent to €154 million (£115.1 million).

The group said it expects to break further sales and earnings records this year. EBIT rose 19 per cent to €220 million (£164.4 million), compared with €184 million (£137.5 million) the previous year.

Hugo Boss chairman Dr Bruno Sälzer said: “A 29 per cent increase in sales to €209 million reflects the continued dynamic growth of Boss Womenswear in 2007.

“The improvement of our own retailing activities and the 16 per cent increase to €176 million in shoes and leather accessories also contributed significantly to our growth.”
