Wickes rolls out rapid delivery service nationwide

The retailer has partnered with last-mile delivery firm Gophr to offer customers same-day delivery on hundreds of its DIY essentials and trade materials to homes and job sites in as little as two to three hours.

The retailer said that the launch of ‘Wickes Rapid’ is a “response to the ever-changing needs of tradespeople, who are increasingly recognising that same-day, express delivery can save them both time on site and money on fuel”.

Customers will have access to Wickes’ full range, with same-day delivery options ranging from couriers on motorbikes for smaller items and tools, to large vans for big ticket items such as lumber and flooring materials.

Customers will be given two to three hour delivery slots with live GPS tracking, proof of delivery and real-time notifications.

Orders can be placed seven days a week during store open hours.

Wickes chief operating officer Steven Blair said: “We know our customers want to get what they need, when they need it, without losing time on the job or at home. With our new partnership with Gophr, they can now have everything from tools to timber delivered straight from their local store to their doorstep in just a few hours.
