The Range boss Chris Dawson has unveiled ambitions to expand into Germany amid plans to take the business into Europe.
The discount DIY and garden retailer has been mulling over a move into the German market for the past 18 months.
âWe are intensely looking at Europe and weâll take the fight to Germany,â The Range founder and boss told the Daily Telegraph.
âWe wonât be saying âIâm Chris Dawson, have a bit of thatâ. No, weâre looking at whoâs doing it best and who we can beat.â
Dawson added that his European roll-out plans would âswerve the troublesome countries, France being one of them.â
He revealed plans to add a further 30 shops to the 149 store estate by Christmas, which he claims will see revenues rise to ÂŁ1bn, up from ÂŁ700m last year.
The Range is in the process of opening a 1.2 million sq ft distribution centre in Bristol â a move that will create more than 1,000 jobs and is due to be completed by 2017.
The homewares retailer recorded a 27% surge in pre-tax profits for the year ending January 25, 2015 after opening 11 new stores during the period.
