BHS International managing director David Anderson has been appointed retail operations director at Wyevale Garden Centres.
He will take up his new role at the 150 garden-centre retailer on May 2.
Anderson was instrumental in launching BHS.com after the 163-store high street chain collapsed into administration a year ago.
He was retail operations director at BHS between 2012 and 2015. Before joining the department store retailer in 2009, Anderson held senior roles at Marks & Spencer, including head of region.
BHS.com launch
Qatari investment firm Al Mana bought the BHS brand including the global intellectual property rights, international franchising business and domain names out of administration at the end of June last year.
Anderson, with a team of 84 employees, drove the initial launch of BHS.com under the brandâs new ownership last September.
Most recently, he was responsible for driving the brandâs international expansion.
Al Mana said last year it was in the final stages of talks with three new franchise partners in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
New BHS finance director Rebecca Rajeswaran will take up Andersonâs role on an interim basis.
A fresh start
A Wyevale spokesperson said: âDavid has held a number of senior roles during his 30 years of retail experience.
âHis wealth of experience in retail and hospitality will be invaluable to the business as we continue to grow and transform in line with our strategic priorities.â
Anderson replaces Colin Hughes, who held the role at Wyevale for three years and helped it set up distribution hubs.
