HobbyCraft claims largest craft store

HobbyCraft has opened what it claims is the biggest dedicated arts and crafts outlet in the UK.

The shop - the size of five tennis courts - is at Nottingham's Broadmarsh Centre.

HobbyCraft - founded by Warren Haskins, who is also behind Haskins Garden Centres - is about to sign for its 20th site and is actively seeking more.

The store group is to spendÂŁ2 million on its first national ad campaign, using TV slots, regional press ads and leafleting to support expansion.

Typical HobbyCraft superstores exceed 900 sq m and retail about 30,000 lines.
