Ghada Beal will begin her role as Superdrug healthcare director on August 7

With 28 years’ experience in the sector, Beal was most recently retail and pharmacy services director at Lloyds Pharmacy.

Prior to that Beal worked at Walgreens Boots Alliance for 26 years, with her latest role vice-president director of stores.

The move comes after the health and beauty retailer saw consistent year-on-year growth across health retail, services and pharmacy, and is set to invest in 25 new stores and revamp 70 stores this year.

Beal, who began her career as a pre-registration pharmacist, will take over from Caris Newson and begin her new role on August 7.

Newson was the interim healthcare director at Superdrug and will move to her new role as head of ecommerce under the health and beauty specialist.

Superdrug commercial director Simon Comins said: “We have ambitious plans to continue to grow our health retail, pharmacy, clinical and digital services, and Ghada’s passion for exceptional standards and her proven track record for delivering for the customer will help us deliver our goals.”

Beal said: “I’m excited to join such a dynamic brand and business to help deliver Superdrug Health’s strategic ambitions in retail, healthcare and pharmacy.

“My background as a pharmacist has meant that health and wellbeing has always been essential to me and I’m keen to continue developing the ways in which Superdrug supports the diverse healthcare needs of all communities.”
