Boots has launched a trial partnership with Deliveroo to offer rapid delivery on a range of more than 400 health and beauty products to customers.

The range will include medicines for minor ailments, toiletries, skincare, baby essentials and food and drink options. Boots will also offer beauty brands on Deliveroo, including products from No7 and CeraVe, as well as items from its own brands such as Soltan.

Deliveroo will deliver products from Boots stores including London Piccadilly

The new service will involve 14 Boots stores across the UK, including London Piccadilly, Nottingham Victoria Centre and Edinburgh Princes Street, with Boots and Deliveroo pledging to have all items delivered to customers in as little as 20 minutes. The partnership’s future expansion is dependent on the success of the pilot.

The launch follows an acceleration in online sales during lockdowns for Boots. Orders rose 85% between March 1, 2020, and March 1, 2021, with Boots already offering next-day, click and collect and home delivery for online customers.

Boots.com director Paula Bobbett said: “We are very excited about this new partnership with Deliveroo and have carefully selected over 400 products for its launch to help our customers get the things they need when they need them.”

“It will be super handy for times when you need something urgently but can’t leave the house, like if you’re feeling unwell or are looking after your kids. Our online business continues to grow and this partnership offers our customers a way to access our products quickly and easily.”

Deliveroo chief business officer Carlo Mocci said: “We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Boots in 14 stores across the country. Boots is the UK’s leading health and beauty retailer and the top consumer choice for high-quality and popular products. This partnership will mean more choice and selection for our consumers, delivered in as little as 20 minutes, and will create more work for riders across the UK.”

The pilot is the latest in a series of partnerships Deliveroo has formed with other retailers. Deliveroo and Waitrose announced a two-year deal in April following a successful trial, while Sainsbury’s also expanded its trial with the delivery service in the same month. Aldi has also partnered with Deliveroo, offering 400 products to customers.
