Tesco boss Ken Murphy today pledged to do “whatever we can” to keep costs down. Here’s how he plans to do that in the face of war, rising inflation, and increased costs.

As the UK’s largest retailer upgraded its full-year operating profit guidance to between £3bn and £3.3bn, Tesco boss Ken Murphy said the grocery giant was “committed to doing whatever we can to help keep down the cost of the weekly shop, and with the conflict in the Middle East creating further uncertainty for consumers and the economy more broadly, that commitment matters more than ever.”
