Morrisons has raided Marks & Spencer’s for its digital lead Sienne Veit.

Veit has joined the grocer in the newly created role of mobile lead. She will be responsible for the retailer’s apps, mobile site and user experience.

She will lead its multichannel expansion plans for its general merchandise and Kiddicare business.

Veit joined M&S in October 2007 and rose to the position of head of mobile and research and development in September 2011.

Morrisons does not currently have a transactional website but will launch a site for general merchandise later this year. It is researching the possibility of launched a transactional grocery website.

Marks & Spencer director of new channels Susan Aubrey-Cound left in February.
