Deliveroo has become the first delivery platform to roll out Nectar, one of the UK’s largest loyalty card programmes.
Nectar members can now collect points when they shop with Sainsbury’s through the app. It becomes the latest loyalty programme to be integrated into the app when customers shop on-demand with selected partners.
Deliveroo said 97% of UK shoppers are members of at least one loyalty scheme and they are becoming an “increasingly integral part of consumer shopping habits”.
Vice president of new verticals at Deliveroo, Suzy McClintock, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Nectar, one of the UK’s most valued and far-reaching loyalty schemes, to Deliveroo. This integration is a massive win for our customers, who can now earn points on their Sainsbury’s grocery orders, further establishing Deliveroo as the go-to destination for on-demand convenience and loyalty.”
Deliveroo first partnered with Sainsbury’s in 2021, fulfilling orders from just under 300 sites. In less than five years, the partnership has quadrupled to more than 1,000 sites.
