Booths has bolstered its senior leadership team with two new appointments, a month after it revealed chief executive Chris Dee was leaving the business.

The upmarket Northern grocer has promoted Nigel Murray to the role of chief operating officer and drafted in Ross Faith as its new finance director.

Murray, who is currently commercial director, will have his remit expanded to include retail, in addition to his current responsibilities of trading, logistics and manufacturing.

Booths head of retail operations, Paul Tidswell, will become head of retail and report to Murray.

Faith, who has previously held finance roles at the likes of Matalan, JTF Wholesale and Pontin’s, will replace Matt Rothwell.

Booths said Rothwell is leaving to take on another position “closer to his family home.”

Executive chairman Edwin Booth, who has also taken on Dee’s chief executive responsibilities following his departure, said: “I have tremendous confidence in Nigel to ensure that Booths remains a strong, resilient Northern retailer and we have a shared vision to grow and develop the business.

“Together with the addition of Ross Faith, who has significant retail and finance experience, we have a robust leadership team in place at Booths.”
