Asda is set to push on with paying its staff their annual bonus as a thank you, despite a challenging year of trading.
In a memo, executive chair Allan Leighton told the retailerâs 9,500 salaried staff, including head office workers and senior store managers, that they would receive a thank you payment at the end of this month, despite some teams missing their targets.
Despite the brandâs struggles, Leighton also said that âthere was still significant effort, commitment and progress made under challenging circumstancesâ.
How much each salaried staff member receives will be determined by their particular grade, according to The Telegraph. Those who have met all of their targets will receive their full bonus, while teams below their targets will receive a partial payout.
The bonus will be paid to any salaried worker who joined the business before October 1, 2025.
âIn recognition of all the hard work undertaken during the first year of our turnaround, we have confirmed that all eligible salaried colleagues will receive a thank you bonus in their March pay,â an Asda spokesman said. âThis has been well received,â he added.
