Gap has unveiled the first drawing of its forthcoming Banana Republic store on Regent Street, scheduled to open on March 20.
The three-floor 17,000 sq ft store, located in one of the units built on the site of the former Dickins & Jones department store, will be a European flagship for the brand and its first store exported beyond North America.
The faux-Georgian building is to be completely renovated, with unique architectural features being retained and external signage kept to a minimum, owing to the site’s listed status. Internally, the store will feature a new stone floor, vintage furniture and a sweeping staircase that will provide access to the first floor.
Last month, Gap signed a franchising agreement with Balkan retail company Marinopoulos Group to take its Gap and Banana Republic fascias to Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Croatia.
