Lego is set to open two new stores in the UK this year, both at flagship shopping centres owned by Hammerson.
The Lego Groupâs only two new stores to open in the UK this year will be on Hammerson schemes at the Bullring in Birmingham and Westquay in Southampton.
While no exact date was given for the openings, Hammerson said the stores will open their doors âahead of the Christmas shopping seasonâ.
Hammerson said âcustomers can expect to be treated to a variety of interactive play and event experiencesâ â including brick specialists to âhelp find shoppers a unique set thatâs the perfect fitâ, hands-on âplay opportunitiesâ and a digital box â where customers can âscan almost any boxed Lego set and see the model come to life in 3Dâ.
The landlord said the stores will âstock the widest selection of Lego setsâ and offer additional benefits for âLego VIP membersâ.
UK leasing director at Hammerson, Kate Orwin, said the stores promise to be âinnovative, interactive and engagingâ and will be a âgreat additionâ to its retail mix.
âThese Lego stores are a great addition to the retail mix at both Bullring & Grand Central and Westquay, which have already seen a number of exciting new openings in 2019, including Kitty CafĂ© and Slim Chickens at Bullring & Grand Central, and Tommy Hilfiger at Westquay.â
