Finlay leaves top post at Claire's

Claire's Accessories chief executive Lyle Finlay has left the company. The reason for his departure is not clear, but a spokeswoman for Claire's said it was the company's decision.

Claire's co-chairman Bonnie Schaefer said in a statement: 'Lyle Finlay, president of Claire's UK, is no longer directing operations in the UK and will be leaving the company shortly. Candidates to assume that position are being evaluated.'

Senior executives from the US and Europe are running the 458-strong UK business at present. Finlay was promoted to chief executive in August 2002.
