Home shopping group Findel is expected to achieve record sales of about £640 million, an increase of 17 per cent, it said in a trading update for the year ending March 31.

The group said all divisions have contributed to the growth. Sales at the Home Shopping division were 24 per cent ahead of the previous year, with more than 55 per cent of those sales coming through the internet. The group’s home shopping business now has more than 2.5 million customers.

The Educational Supplies division achieved growth despite a flat market overall, with sales for the year 6 per cent ahead compared with last year.

The board said it is confident the group is well positioned to grow in the next financial year. Preliminary results for the year will be revealed on May 15.
