• First-quarter global sales rise 14.5%

  • UK sales up 16.6% on constant currency basis to €65m

Etailer Yoox Net-A-Porter has reported a healthy jump in first-quarter sales as its number of active users hit 2.5 million.

The global luxury fashion firm, which was established last year with the merger of Yoox and Net-A-Porter, said net sales rose 14.5% to €446.2m in the three months to March 31.

Monthly unique visitors rose to 29.6 million, compared to 28.3 million in the same period last year, the etailer said. Active customers reached 2.5 million, up from 2.2 million in March last year.

In the UK, net sales at constant exchange rates jumped 16.6% to €65m. However this was a sharp slowdown on the same period last year when sales soared 36% in the UK.

In Europe, excluding Italy and the UK, sales rose 13.3%. In North America, sales jumped 14.3% to €133m. In Asia-Pacific sales climbed 15.7%. 

The group also reported it has renewed a contract to run armani.com for another 10 years. It has also agreed a deal to host French fashion house Isabel Marant on its site.

In March, the group reported a 26% jump in full-year EBITDA as sales jumped 31% to €1.7bn.
