The White Company has reported an increase in sales and profits after expanding its online offer and cutting costs.

The bed linen and nightwear specialist recorded a 5% increase in pre-tax profits to £4.7m in the year to March, The Sunday Times reported.

The White Company, which is led by chief executive Will Kernan, said sales rose 10% to £125.6m in the year while operating profits rocketed 83% to £7.6m.

The retailer paid out almost £3m in bonuses to senior managers as part of a long-term incentive scheme.

Founder Chrissie Rucker was not involved in the incentive scheme but did receive £5.7m from the business last year.
