Topshop has confirmed the identity of its first UK stockist in a social media video showing the façade of iconic London department store Liberty.

The video prompted a storm of comments from fans and customers and led to Liberty’s buying and merchandising director, Lydia King, confirming the department store would stock Topshop’s new autumn/winter collection.

“To be a part of [Topshop’s] return, when there’s so much nostalgia about the location, and the brand, and the cultural moment, is really exciting,” King told Elle UK.

Topshop has also confirmed international partners, including Irish department stores McElhinneys and Shaws, France’s Printemps and Denmark’s Magasin du Nord.

The news comes just days after Topshop and Topman relaunched its standalone website, separate from parent company Asos, and launched a new 40-piece edit with a free catwalk show in London’s Trafalgar Square over the weekend.
