Tesco’s plans for an online marketplace to rival Amazon may not be able to stock all beauty brands as some are reluctant to be linked with the Tesco name.

According to the Independent on Sunday, Tesco has been working on the project for over a year.

It has set a launch date of spring next year and wants to sell branded products across all categories.

One source told the paper that brands such as Clarins have been reluctant to sell through its site.

Tesco wants the site to rival Amazon, and will allow it to sell hundreds more products without stocking them in stores.

Separately, Argos has hired Emily Jacobs, who previously worked at Figleaves and TKMaxx, to work on developing its clothing lines.
