Former Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy and former Best Buy international head Bob Willett have backed an investment in fashion etailer Atterley Road.

Leahy and Willett join fund manager Artemis and the William Currie Group in the £2m investment to allow Atterley Road to expand its operations in the UK and abroad, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The etailer, which turned over £2m in its first year and has customers in 100 countries, was founded by former Credit Suisse banker Edward David and former Jigsaw designer and fashion buyer Katie Starmer-Smith in 2011.

Atterley Road hopes to combine high street designs with independent designers’ products.

The four investors are also backers of technology firm MetaPack, which handles online deliveries for Asos an Marks & Spencer among others.
