Nursery retailer Kiddicare has reported that its customer details database has been hacked, with addresses accessed by hackers.

Kiddicare has said that the problem was limited to a small number of customers, and that no payment details or credit or debit card details were accessed.

Customer delivery addresses, phone numbers and email addresses were hacked.

The retailer has put in place increased security and says that it has “identified the source of the problem and taken steps to prevent it happening again”.

It said in an email to customers: “We understand that a situation like this creates stress and anxiety about the safety of your personal data.

“Our brand has been built on a 40-year foundation of trust with our customers and we have therefore taken the step of contacting customers who may have been affected. We want to assure you that the cause of this issue has been addressed and you can continue to shop with confidence at Kiddicare.”
