Whistles boss Helen Williamson is to take early retirement after nearly six years with the retailer.

She will be replaced by former Whistles managing director and current Hobbs boss Justin Hampshire who will now act as managing director for both retailers.

Williamson started at Whistles as commercial director in 2015, before becoming brand director a year later.

She has led the fashion retailer as managing director since December 2018.

Williamson has also held roles at Hobbs and Ted Baker during her 32-year career in retail.

Hampshire is set to return to Whistles after a two-year break and will hold the top role at both companies from this month.

He previously acted as Whistles managing director from September 2016 until December 2018 and joined Hobbs in January 2019.

Prior to this, Hampshire was chief financial officer at Whistles, chief operating officer at Crew Clothing and chief financial officer at Marchpole.
