H&M’s like-for-like sales rose 1% in the month of January compared with the same month last year.

Total sales up for the Swedish fashion chain rose 11%.The figures exclude currency rate changes.

H&M’s international stores totalled 1,987 at the end of January compared to 1,741 at the same time last year.

Last month, H&M reported full-year sales to November 30 rose 15% to SEK101.39bn (£8.77bn). Group profits after tax climbed 7% to SEK16.38bn (£1.42bn). It has also unveiled plans to bring H&M home to the UK for the first time this year which will launch in line with its online offer which will debut here later this year.
