The date for the long-awaited opening of Lefties’ first UK store at the Liverpool One shopping centre has been confirmed.

The Inditex-owned retailer says the 50,000 sq ft store will open on August 27, having previously teased an unconfirmed date for late summer.

This will be followed by its second site at the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex in October, before opening at the Gateshead Metrocentre later in the autumn.

Lefties is also planning to open a fourth UK store at an undisclosed location in the winter.

It comes after Retail Week first reported that Lefties had officially launched its ecommerce website in the UK, meaning that consumers can now shops its women’s, men’s and kidswear ranges alongside its home collections.

Shoppers can purchase goods for home delivery and will soon be able to click-and-collect their orders in stores.

The retailer began in 1999 as an outlet for old Zara stock, but in the last decade has established its own design team to create its own collections. It positions itself as an affordable retailer for the whole family.

The brand opened its first French store in May, in the newly developed Valvert Croix Blanche shopping centre outside of Paris.

Inditex is embarking on an international expansion of the brand following its popularity across Spain and Portugal.
