Boohoo’s pre-tax profit rocketed from £3.2m to £10.7m in its year to February 28. Here are a few useful facts about the retailer.

In its debut results for the year to February 28, Boohoo’s sales soared 63% to £109.8m and it more than doubled its active customers (54% up on previous year). Pre-tax profit was up 237% on the year.

For the three months to May 31 2014, UK revenues jumped 44% and the rest of Europe was also up 41% but sales outside Europe dropped 20%, hit by Australia and currency headwinds. For the year, overall revenue was up 63%.

Boohoo has launched foreign language websites, the first in French and the latest in Spanish, with more languages promised in the coming year. A new payment gateway is to be added, which enable Scandinavian currency payments and payment by Sofort and Ideal cards in Europe.

Despite the sales slowdown outside Europe, international sales as a whole grew 35% in the year, with the French market growing 90% since the November 2013 launch of Boohoo’s French-language website.

Boohoo said that the US market had grown strongly during the year, trebling in size, and said it remains a potential market for much greater investment in the future. As a starting point it is currently looking for a New York office.

The company carries around 9,000 styles and dresses represent over 30% of the product range. Main range dresses are priced between £12 and £25, while Style Steals retail for as little as £3.

BoohooMan was introduced in Autumn 2013 and was heavily marketed across television and billboards in February. Menswear sales were up 117% on the year and Boohoo expects big things from the major marketing campaigns.

Boohoo launched a plus size early in 2014 and has plans to add a petite range later in 2014.

Boohoo handled 4.2 million orders last year and achieved a conversion rate of 6.9% for an average basket size of £37.48, working out at 2.38 items per basket.

Mobile traffic has soared to 47% of the total, up from 29% the prior year.

Boohoo is adding more delivery options, including Sunday delivery, a 10pm cut off for next-day delivery and an express service to Europe and beyond, plus more return options.
