Pureplay fashion retailer Asos has launched the UK’s first next-day locker delivery service with parcel locker operator InPost.
As part of the partnership, Asos shoppers will be able to select InPost lockers at checkout as their primary out of home delivery option, which the retailer said would give them “greater speed, flexibility and convenience”.
The service will be available to all Asos customers and will be free of charge for its premium customers.
Asos director of delivery solutions David Flavell said: “We know that customers come to ASOS for the latest fashion when they want it. Adding InPost’s extensive network of over 16,000 lockers and parcel shops to our offering, with a next day delivery, gives customers even more choice and convenience in how they get the fashion they love. We’re delighted to have InPost as our exclusive locker partner”.
The launch of the tie-up is part of InPost’s move to “accelerate its growth and enhance its infrastructure in the UK”.
The parcel locker operator acquired delivery firm Yodel in April and is now “significantly expanding its last-mile capabilities” and “enabling the company to step into the position of the third-largest” logistics firm in the UK.
InPost UK chief executive Neil Kuschel said: “This launch is a game changer for out-of-home delivery in the UK. By introducing the first nationwide next-day locker service, we’re setting a new standard for delivery. ASOS is the perfect partner to launch with—a brand that shares our commitment to innovation and putting customers first.”
