As sales lag, is it time for Primark to hit pause on its international ambitions?

Primark experienced another quarter of softer like-for-like sales as it blamed subdued consumer confidence “across most of our markets”.

The fashion retailer faced the most pressure from its European business, which fell 3.6% in the three weeks to June 20, and trading in the US continued to be mixed – despite its 16% growth.
