HMV administrator Deloitte has struck a deal to continue to stock major new film, music and game releases.

The temporary deals with film studios and music labels means that the retailer will be able to stock hotly-anticipated new releases including James Bond film Skyfall and Madagascar 3.

HMV joint administrator Nick Edwards said: “We are pleased that these agreements are now in place, allowing us to replenish stock and bring in new titles. The support of suppliers over the past few weeks has been significant and these agreements demonstrate their ongoing commitment to supporting HMV.”

Edwards said discussion are ongoing with parties interested in the whole and parts of the collapsed entertainment business.

He added: “Landlords have been generally flexible and supportive and we hope to continue working closely with them to restructure the business and seek to secure its future.”

HMV collapsed into administration last month after fierce competition from online retail combined with the economic downturn resulted in declining sales.
