Sir Philip Green is aiming to redeploy about 1,000 workers who were employed at Arcadia concessions in BHS stores.

Retail Week understands that the staff are currently in a period of consultation, but Green is keen to find jobs for as many of them as possible across his retail empire.

Arcadia concessions within BHS, which collapsed into administration in April, include Dorothy Perkins and Wallis.

Arcadia declined to comment.

A total of 11,000 BHS staff face redundancy as the department store chain is being wound down after administrators were unable to find a buyer.

Green is also facing pressure to contribute to BHS’s £571m pension deficit. Last week he told MPs probing the collapse of the chain that he will “find a solution” to the pension issue.

The Topshop tycoon’s wife, Tina, has also been asked by MPs to explain the allegedly “opaque web” of family firms connected to Arcadia.
