Liberty has appointed former De Beers chief financial officer Alex Pregnolato as its new finance boss, effective immediately.

Pregnolato will be responsible for supporting the luxury department store’s long-term growth and strategic ambitions, as well as strengthening its international presence.
He most recently served as CFO and head of transformation at diamond company De Beers from 2021 to 2024, and was finance boss for Versace Americas from 2017 to 2021.
Liberty chief executive Adil Mehboob-Khan said: “Alex comes from the top end of luxury and is a global asset, having worked and lived in the UK and across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
“As Liberty’s international appeal continues to grow, and our luxury brand is expanding globally, Alex brings financial and operational expertise that will help us accelerate further the business and bring Liberty magic to new customers and regions.
Pregnolato added: “Liberty is a growing business, with incredible heritage, a powerful brand, and is an authority in retail and design.
“I am delighted to join such an iconic and well-loved company at an important moment and look forward to working with Adil and the leadership team to drive profitable growth, deliver the strategy, and contribute my personal experience in global markets and in luxury operating models.”
