John Lewis has appointed Anna Milne as its new director of merchandising.

Milne, who was most recently merchandising director for Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter, is set to join in the new role, which is part of the department store’s management board. 

Milne has worked in retail for almost 20 years, with prior merchandising roles at House of Fraser, Asos, Jules B and The Outnet. 

Milne said: “Having grown up in Newcastle with John Lewis as a cornerstone of the high street, this feels like a full-circle moment. I am delighted to take on this role within a Partnership that places people and community at its heart while delivering commercial excellence.”

She will report to chief commercial officer Vikki Kavanagh. 

Kavanagh said: “Anna will be a fantastic addition to our team, bringing a wealth of experience to the role, and her leadership will be crucial for ensuring that our shops are fully stocked with a fantastic assortment of inspiring products.”

Milne will begin the role on November 17.
