Retail sales volumes slip in September as shoppers rein in spending
Retail sales volumes fell in September, with warm weather hitting sales of autumn fashion, according to the ONS.
Clothing, footwear and sports equipment stores reported lower footfall and customers cutting back, with non-food volumes down 0.4% on the month.
