The £4 million refurbishment of Phase 4 of the Cumbernauld shopping centre has attracted eight new retailers to the town centre.

Landlord Coal Pension Properties has broken the 43,000 sq ft (3,995 sq m) former Tesco store into six large individual units. New Look is taking 12,000 sq ft (1,115 sq m), Peacocks is taking 8,000 sq ft (745 sq m) and Ethel Austin is taking 5,500 sq ft (510 sq m). Superdrug will be relocating to a 7,300 sq ft (680 sq m) unit from one of half that size.

The remaining units of 7,000 sq ft (650 sq m) and 2,500 sq ft (230 sq m) are under offer to national multiple retailers.

Elsewhere in the scheme, Bonmarche has taken 5,000 sq ft (465 sq m). Card Factory has taken 1,300 sq ft (120 sq m), and Grays Jewellers has taken 500 sq ft (45 sq m). Deals reflect about £55 zone A.
