Footwear brand and retailer Crocs has hired former La Senza retail operations director Ann Chan to join as European retail director.

Chan, who had been at the beleaguered lingerie retailer since July last year, will be based at Crocs’ European head office in the Netherlands and will report to Crocs European managing director Vince Gunn, the former boss of academic book chain Blackwells. Gunn joined at the end of last year.

Prior to joining La Senza, Chan was at New Look for 16 years where she held various positions including business change director.

Chan’s appointment is one of three key appointments at Crocs. Adrian Holloway, financial controller at Bathstore, will join the footwear brand as finance director while Michael Marshall-Clarke, currently head of creative at beauty brand Liz Earle, will assume the role of European marketing director.

Crocs would not be drawn on when Chan, Holloway and Marshall-Clarke will take-up their roles, but all will be based in the Netherlands.

In the third quarter to September 30, 2011 Crocs reported a net income rise of 20.8% to $30.2m (£19.7m).
