Luxury fashion retailer Burberry is to take the store on Regent Street which is currently occupied by Habitat.

Burberry currently occupies 157-167 Regent Street but will vacate this store in order for it to be redeveloped by landlord The Crown Estate this year as part of its W4 development.

Habitat said last week that it would be vacating its shop at 121-123 Regent Street as the street was too fashion-led and did not fit in with its strategy.

Habitat’s Regent Street store is a 20,000 sq ft Grade II listed former theatre. Habitat will close on March 19.

Habitat, owned by Hilco, said it will be focusing its attention on its flagship store at Tottenham Court Road.

It is understood that property agency Harper Dennis Hobbs acted for Burberry.
