US fashion retailer American Apparel is set to roll out its latest London store in Camden Town.

The retailer has signed for a 3,800 sq ft (353 sq m) store on Camden High Street in a unit located near the tube station and H&M’s recently opened new-format Divided store.

The signing follows previous London store openings on Neal Street in Covent Garden and Oxford Street last December

American Apparel’s London portfolio also includes stores on Portobello Road in Notting Hill, its debut store on Carnaby Street which opened in 2004, Curtain Road in Shoreditch and Kensington High Street. It has also recently taken space in Glasgow and Brighton and is in the process of fitting out a store at Grosvenor’s Liverpool One.

Churston Heard central London associate director Mark Smith, who advises American Apparel, said: “London is performing extremely well for American Apparel and there is definitely room for more stores in the key streets. Camden has long been on our target list. The street has the right profile of shopper for the brand and a great store in the right location became available.”

The retailer will stock its full range of womenswear and menswear in the two-level store.

The landlord, Legal & General, was represented by Briant Champion Long.
