Burberry is to open its first store in Scotland in the Multrees Walk shopping district.

The luxury fashion retailer has signed for a 5,000 sq ft store in the Edinburgh area, it is understood.

Coffee specialist Nespresso and fashion retailer Tommy Hilfiger have also signed to debut their first standalone store in the country in the area dubbed ‘Scotland’s Bond Street’. Nespresso will open a 5,000 sq ft shop and Tommy Hilfiger a 4,700 sq ft shop.

These deals follow recent lettings to Hugo Boss, Mulberry and Michael Kors which join a retail line-up that includes anchor Harvey Nichols and Louis Vuitton in the luxury shopping street.

LaSalle Investment Management director Steve Spray said: “These new signings highlight the increasing international appeal of Multrees Walk.

“We are attracting retailers who only consider the finest retail destinations for their standalone stores in the UK. A third landmark letting, to an iconic luxury goods retailer will be announced soon.”

Cushman and Wakefield and Eric Young & Co advised the destination’s management LaSalle Investment Management in signing the retailers.
