After HMV and Blockbuster’s collapses last week, the entertainment sector is in trouble and it looks as if Waterstones is thinking of opening a soup kitchen in stores.

In a recent training session on customer service, staff were encouraged to deliver soup to any sick, regular customers. When the strategy was questioned by a worker, they were shown a sad face.

Waterstones staff could certainly make good use of the recipe book section but if the retailer hopes soup will help sales there might be more unhappy faces.
