Trinity Gardens seeks Quayside tenants

Tyneside-based property agent Smith Cole Wright has been appointed to market retail and restaurant units at the£55 million Trinity Gardens development on Newcastle Quayside.

Trinity Gardens, being developed by Silverlink Property Developments, is one of the last major development opportunities on Newcastle's waterfront scheme, creating direct pedestrian links to the city centre.

The multi-use development includes 160,000 sq ft (14,865 sq m) of office space, apartments, a 500-space car park, and an 80-bed extension for the existing Travelodge. Three large floorplate retail units, ranging from 3,000 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft (280 sq m to 650 sq m), are being constructed at ground-floor level.

Smith Cole Wright director Crawford Cole said: 'Units of this size are rare within the Quayside area. We are looking for a high-quality food store to service both the resident and business population. In addition, we see the location appealing to the more discerning elements of the retail market for fashion and homewares or furniture, as well as complementary restaurateurs not represented in the city.'

Construction at Trinity Gardens is expected to be completed next summer.
