Tintin to boost Ottakar's brand

Bookseller Ottakar's is introducing Tintin-branded areas in 25 stores.

The highly visible areas, themed around the Belgian detective, have already been installed in Truro, Inverness and the refurbished Clapham Junction branch that re-opened last weekend.

Finance director Edward Knighton said other stores will follow throughout the year. The retailer's name is inspired by the Tintin book King Ottokar's Sceptre and is run by Tintin-devotee managing director James Heneage.

Knighton said: 'We think it's a very under-exploited brand that will grow and grow over the years.'
