Robert Dyas is one of four businesses within the Theo Paphitis Retail Group and offers a wide range of home and kitchenware through its 90 or so primarily South East-based stores.

Under Paphitis, Robert Dyas has invested in a new ecommerce platform, store refurbishments and a new distribution centre to support increased processing capacity and cross-brand click and collect.

Impacted by the pandemic, total sales fell 9.5% to £122.5m in the year to March 2021 (FY2020) as an 88% surge in online sales failed to offset a 36.2% slump in like-for-like store sales. 

The retailer’s priority is to further improve its multichannel capabilities, including growing ecommerce to account for 50% of sales and enhancing click and collect, as it deals with the digital disruption in the retail sector.

Although the retailer files separate accounts, it shares some central resources with Paphitis’ other retail interests: stationers Ryman, art supplier London Graphic Centre and lingerie chain Boux Avenue. Initiatives are currently under way to create greater efficiencies across the four brands through shared efforts in IT, fulfilment and joint stores.
