White Stuff signs Arcadia chief to drive expansion

Surf and skiwear retailer White Stuff has appointed Sally Bailey to the newly created role of chief operating officer.

Formerly brand director at Miss Selfridge, Bailey has worked in retail for 15 years, including eight years at Arcadia. According to White Stuff, she has been brought on board to boost expansion and help develop the business.

Bailey will be responsible for implementing plans to open three to four stores a year for the next five years, doubling the wholesale business and increasing mail order and online sales.

White Stuff recently opened three stores, in Oxford, Exeter and Cambridge, bringing the total number of UK shops to 21. There are also three stores in Alpine ski resorts.
