Cash will boost expansion
The Canadian retailing dynasty the Weston family have expanded their stake in Sweaty Betty, the niche UK retailer of outdoor and sporting apparel for women.

The Westons - who also own Associated British Foods, Fortum and Mason and Heal's - conducted the deal through their Wittington Investements vehicle.

As a result of the undisclosed injection of funds, a Sweaty Betty spokeswoman said the company would continue to expand across the UK over the next three years.

The business, which was founded in Notting Hill, west London in 1998, has 21 stores and will open two more in Cambridge and Notingham by the end of the year.
