Footwear retailer Kurt Geiger and turnaround specialist Endless are among potential buyers of embattled Jones Bootmaker, it is understood.
A deal could save jobs at Jones Bootmaker, which filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators last week.
Kurt Geiger and Endless are among a number of parties interested in Jones, Sky News reported.
However, it is thought that Kurt Geiger’s interest centres on the Jones brand rather than shops, which means store roles are likely to be at risk.
Jones product is sold in approximately 100 standalone stores and through concessions.
The sale process is being handled by KPMG and follows tough trading at Jones.
The notice of intention to appoint administrators, revealed by Retail Week, was filed in order to create breathing space to organise a sale.
A sale however is thought likely to involve a pre-pack arrangement, as recently deployed by Sports Direct tycoon Mike Ashley to take control of Agent Provocateur.
Alteri bought Jones Bootmaker and fellow footwear specialist Brantano in 2015.
Retail Week revealed yesterday that Brantano has also filed an intention to appoint an administrator.
It is understood that the value shoe retailer is going through the same sale process as Jones.
